Things are a tad quieter around here because I’m doing two really cool things at the moment. First, my half-time job with Texas Farmers’ Market is keeping me busy because we’re planning the second annual Austin Fermentation Festival to be held on October 25. I’m really excited for a larger venue, lots of fun stuff (like a kraut mob inspired by Boston & San Diego friends) and Jenny McGruther’s visit.

The other super-cool thing I’m up to is taking a 9-month herbalism course with the dear friend (and new business partner!) who runs Sacred Journey School of Herbalism here in Austin. We went on a campout to Garner State Park (you better listen to the song inspired by the park here) this weekend. It was magical. Plant walks, herbal knowledge, two-stepping at the last dance of the season, swimming in the Frio river, a shock of milky way and plenty of shooting stars.

A photographer friend who is also in the class shared a few photos with me, too.
