Decor that teaches you something

I should be packing for my trip on Wednesday.

But I’m not. I’m drooling over this site, introduced to me today by a friend.

Photo reproduced courtesy of “pilllpat (agence eureka)” on FlickrThis reminds me of how obsessed I am with vintage picture tutorials (in foreign languages, cuteness factor squared.) I collect roadside books at every opportunity—especially old encyclopedias, dictionaries thesauruses or school/lesson books—to cut them up and use them in collages, make cards with them or just hang them on the fridge or wall straight up.

I share your love for such wonderful old books......have been painting on and using pages for collages too. But mostly they're just stacking up in the studio, staring at me and wondering why I'm ignoring them! But I can't stop collecting. Every time I find another one for $1 or $0, I say, "now I'm really going to do a project with this one, this very week," or "this one's not long for this world, it will be cut into shreds and incorporated into 99 new paintings by the end of tomorrow".......oh well, one day....
