Canning fancy giveaway: Riverdog Prints
This spring, as I was packing my suitcase full of jams, pickles and preserves, heading out to the West coast for book tour events, Cyn sent me a tweet @reply to the photo of 15 jars stacked tall in my suitcase. She mentioned that my jars looked a bit naked and she had just the thing for me. A couple weeks later, when I returned home, I found a little envelope of wonderful in my mailbox. Cyn owns Riverdog Prints, an eco-friendly, sustainable paper/packaging & pet-partnered print and card shop.
I fell in love her tags (which can be sticky or not, depending on your preferred jar labeling tactic); I used up my little round inserts nearly right away. I’ve coveted and squirreled away my little rectangular gift tags.

When I met her IRL in Northampton MA (she drove in from CT!), Cyn was kind enough to offer two of my blog readers sampling of her canning labels and tags. Even non-canners can enjoy these, since she has cute tags that are blank and will hang from any kind of gift pack you create.

This will be a shorter timeline giveaway, so there’s time enough to get these to you hopefully before the holiday. Entries close December 15, 2011 at midnight CST.
To enter: post a comment below sharing with us any homemade holiday gift idea you plan to try this year (or next)!
To sweeten the deal, I’ll send both winners each a little jar of my tangerine marmalade to either gift or gobble up yourself. Winners will be selected by good ol’ Random.org, entrants accepted from US & Canada since Cyn is shipping these out of her own pocket. Thanks for understanding my awesome further-abroad folks.
p.s. if you don’t put your email address in the little box on the comment form (only I’ll see it, and no one else), then you won’t win.
Congrats to lucky numbers 3 and 44, Patricia and Joanna!
Thanks all for reading and entering, happy holidays with all your yummy homemade-ness.

These are such cute labels. Definitely going to keep them in mind for the summer! This year, I'm planning on gifting some syrups (your tangerine recipe just made my list to make tonight) to be used in cocktails. :)
I just started canning this fall, and I'm going to be giving spiced plum jam, peach butter, peach jam, and salted caramel pear butter as gifts for coworkers, neighbors and cousins.
I am making chocolate covered clementine clementine rind for friends and family this year!
I made the tangerine syrup you posted, hot and sweet spice rub, and an assortment of jams and butters!! Yummy

I'm making homemade liquors and jams this year. We always do a holiday brunch season and I figured homemade jams and liquors would complete the meals we serve to our famlilies. I would love these labels to decorate my goodies.
I made a lot of jams for gifts and next year I think I'm going homemade all the way!
We are making Meyer Lemon Marmalade as gifts this year. And hopefully some infused items if they are done in time. Of course we could use some pretty labels.
Ooh, what a lovely giveaway! I plan on doing mostly homemade gifts this year: jams, syrups, pickles, mustards, and even going to try making some maple almond butter in my little old food processor.
I'm making bitters and bourbon soaking fruits for Old Fashioneds. These would be great labels!
I allways wanted to make enfussed peppermint. Vodka for gifts
So cute! This year I'm making candied orange peel dipped in chocolate to send to relatives :)
We're in the process of perfecting salted caramels for gift giving this year.
I'm giving away homemade jams & pickles to family & friends!
I am making playdough, biscotti, dulce de leche, caramel corn, corn bread and hot chocolate on a stick this year.
A jam and pickle sampler. Brought home a wonderful eight part case box from work...fits eight 8oz jars perfectly. Way nicer than a Pepperidge Farm giftbox...or even Harry and David...or so I'd like to think.
I'm giving a lot of homemade gifts this year but so far my favorites are Gingered Cranberry-Pear Chutney (really good on brie) and homemade dog biscuits for my friends and family with dogs.
Love the labels!
I'm making crepes and cookies to give to some kind colleagues. Was at the swap this month and really want to try making your tangerine syrup for cocktails! The marmalade sounds delicious as well. Mmmmm.
I'm making brown sugar scrub for the ladies and old fashioned shortbread for the men. My house is going to smell delicious this year. :)
I made some Apple Butter that I plan to gift this year. And every year I (with the help of my children) make & give cookies & candies. Last year we tried chocolate & caramel dipped pretzels but they didn't turn out qute right (caramel got too hard) - maybe we'll give that a try again & see if we can improve them. Thanks for the great giveaway!
Last year I found a great recipe for gingerbread cookies. I made the dough for my younger sisters and let them roll it out. I also gave them icing to decorate them with. They had fun and the cookies tasted great! I plan to make them again this year for my family.
I am currently making a cashmere scarf for a friend. And I'm considering making pumpkin butter for myself! That's still a gift, right?? Okay... maybe I'll make some for my new mom friend as well. :)
This post is perfect timing, since I was just taking a break from making labels for my homemade coffee liqueur! I would love to save time next year with those adorable labels.
I will be making lavender syrup and infused honey. As well as honey lemon jelly and your tangerine syrup!
I'll be baking some eggnog scones for those near and dear but packaging my fig and olive spread for those far and dear! Also, hazelnut and chocolate bars for the kids' teachers.
I also have some mint meringues in mind since my mint plant is still producing.....
Thanks so much for pointing me in the direction of these labels. I will be gifting some to my niece (I taught her to can this summer).

I am making a memory game for my baby sister, using pictures of family and other personal photographs. It's really fun!
