Container garden watering tip

The dog days of summer can be brutal on your container garden plants. I give my buckets and pots some added drip-action first thing in the morning by filling a glass bottle with water and sticking it upside down into the soil. Be sure to nudge the bottle down far enough in order to create a slow-drip throughout the day and not a quick rush all at once.

Water the plant thoroughly in the evening to help it recoup from the hot sunny day.
