I'll drink to that
Marisa changed my life with a tip she retained from her 12th grade biology class: remove Sharpie ink from any glass jar with a cotton ball dipped in rubbing alcohol. (I also removed sharpie from one of my favourite shirts via a little rubbing alcohol soak, brilliant).
What better use for a flat of soon-to-be filled mason jars than cups for potluck or dinner party guests to inscribe with their name for the night. Now you can remember which glass is yours at your next party without a stack of tacky, red plastic on the scene. [Note: be sure to write on the jar before you fill it with ice and liquid fun or the condensation will make a mess of your efforts.]
I love chemistry and biology.

What a nice idea! Thank you!
What a great idea! Not ugly and nothing to throw away!! I hate all the plastic waste.
i'm giving you a major air-jump high five for this idea. brilliant!
Heck yeah! And you'll know when it's time to have another party when you've got enough empty mason jars (after having filled and used them) cluttering your shelves, begging to be put to use. Very nice!
Thanks all for the sweet comments!
Fun, festive and personalized!
Excellent idea. I suggested to my wife when we needed new drinking glasses that we just start using our pint and half-pint canning jars instead. She vetoed my idea. I thought it would kill two birds with one stone.
Love this idea - thanks!
I never think to use the rubbing alcohol trick for glasses. Thanks for the reminder!
Whiteboard markers work too - they'll come off without the rubbing alcohol. Just wipe, and then wash them normally.
I use dry-erase markers for my party glassware :)
