Save those apple scraps

Fall is here, which, for many peeps, means apple pie. Keep your cores and peels to make your own apple cider vinegar. Here are a few of my fruit scrap vinegar posts to get you going. While the fruit may be different, the photos in the strawberry and peach vinegar posts will help you identify the stages you’ll encounter in apple or any scrap vinegar fermentation.

Happy fermenting!

I store peels and cores in the freezer until I have enough to boil up and extract the juice for apple jelly. Free jelly!!
